5 Facts You Should Know About Vaping, E-cigarettesAddiction, particularly nicotine addiction, is very common among adults all over the world, and many people are unhappy with their addiction and are unable to break free.
Many smokers have recently turned to e-cigarettes and vapes to quit smoking and avoid harming their bodies.
However, the question is whether vapes and e-cigarettes are truly an ideal solution for quitting smoking.

Here are some facts about e-cigarettes and vapes that many people are unaware of.

1. E-cigarettes don’t lead to quitting

Although e-cigarettes are advertised as a way to help people quit smoking, the reality is quite the opposite.
They, on the other hand, become more addicted to nicotine as a user consumes more of it than they would from a traditional cigarette.
The user has the option of purchasing a higher concentration cartridge containing more nicotine, and vapes have the option of increasing voltage for a better hit with more volume of the addictive substance.

As a result, smokers do not quit.
Instead, they begin using both traditional and electronic cigarettes.

It is not completely safe

Almost all vapes contain artificial flavours that are inhaled in addition to nicotine.
Researchers believe that these flavours contain harmful chemicals that most people are unaware of.
Although it has been established that e-cigarettes contain far fewer chemicals than traditional cigarettes, those that are present directly attack the lung and have resulted in various lung injuries among vapours, primarily due to a culprit known as vitamin E acetate, which is a thickener and present in liquid used in vapes and e-cigarettes.

Vaping leads to heart and gum diseases

A recent study found that e-cigarette users are 56% more likely to have a heart attack than non-users.
The high levels of nicotine in them directly increase adrenaline levels in the body and raise heart rate.
This can result in coronary artery disease and heart attacks.
Furthermore, the chemicals present harm the gums by restricting blood flow and nutrients to the mouth, causing damage to the oral tissues.

A threat to the new generation

E-cigarettes are very popular among the younger generation due to the flashy colours used in marketing, the low per-use cost, and the lack of odour. This reduces the stigma associated with smoking.
This is extremely concerning because these vapes trigger nicotine addiction rather than assisting in quitting.
Nicotine addiction has become very common among high school teenagers as a result of these smoke-producing devices that many find very cool.
It is now fashionable to obtain the most recent vape in the most eye-catching colours and flavours.

The easy accessibility and feasibility of vaping

The most common reason for vaping is the ease of use.
You can vape anywhere, from a movie theatre to a school canteen, and no one will notice.
This increases the popularity of e-cigarettes and increases nicotine consumption, making users more vulnerable to health risks.

Although there is no doubt that smoking is harmful to one's health, there is no solid evidence that vaping is not. However, the lack of knowledge about the risks of vaping and the chemicals used in the process make it something to avoid.
